In addition to our administrative staff, we have 13 project estimator/managers, with an average tenure with Dawson of well over 10 years. We are structured such that the same project estimator/manager that estimates a project also manages the project. We have 20+ project supervisors and project foremen with an average tenure with Dawson of over 10 years.
Peter C. Dawson, President
Pete was born in Bellingham, Washington and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Engineering from Montana State Univeristy. Pete represents the 2nd generation in this family business; he succeeds his father and company founder, J.R. Dawson.

J.R. Dawson, Vice President
J.R. Dawson is our company founder; he established Dawson Construction as a fair, professional and competitive contractor. His first Alaska project was the 1964 Schoenbar School (completed as Dawson/Strengholt). J.R. has a civil engineering degree from the University of Washington. He lives in Ketchikan, Alaska when he isn't cruising the waters of British Columbia and Southeast Alaska.

Michael K. Bayless, CFO
Mike was born in Corvallis, Oregon and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Pepperdine University. Mike joined Dawson Construction in 2005. Mike's responsibilities at Dawson Construction include insurance and bond management, accounting, and risk management.

Len Andrews, Operations Manager
Len has been working in construction, in one form or another, for over 30 years. Starting out as a carpenter for DCI in 1980, Len has also worked as a Superintendent and a Project Manager. After 13 years with DCI, and 17 years of self-employment, Len recently returned to DCI as our Operations Manager.

Amy C. Ackerman, Human Resource Manager
Amy was born in Bellingham, Washington and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters in Business Administration from Western Washington University. Amy joined Dawson Construction in 2000 and her responsibilities include human resources, marketing and information technology.
